These are some prototype animations for Nyx, the bulk of these made before it was decided that the player dashes through enemies rather than at them. They are pretty janky, with things that were broken since I made them but I left them in to show my progression, as I learnt more about IK/HK switching and animating flips by moving the root rather than from the hip. These were mostly made to get a sense for how our main character would move. The dash animation was mostly inspired by ice skating reference, though I made the rookie error of overwriting other dash test animations. The slash animations draw from reference collected from Dodgeball games and trampolining (surprisingly, I found reference footage of Dodgeball Trampolining unhelpful, despite it being the best thing.) Model is the HIK sample provided by Autodesk.
