解説 / Description:
折り畳み式の小型提灯。小田原の職人・甚左衛門が作り始めたとされることからその名がある。袂や懐に収納することも可能なため、懐提灯とも言う。

Foldable small lanterns. The name comes from the fact that Odawara craftsman Jinzaemon is said to have started making them. Also called “pocket lanterns” because they can be stored in the sleeves or in the inside pocket of one’s kimono.
