Story This chest once belonged to a barbarian warlord named Odrak. He probably kept his valuables in it, and made it very clear with a crude inscription. The chest is made from aged oak, deer bones and hammered brass. Some damage is visible but it is still in usable condition.

Technique Modeled in Blender with vertex modeling and subdivisions, then textured with Substance. It took me approx. 10-12 hours to complete. For the oak wood I used a beautyful whiskey barrel material from Substance Share. For the metal and bone materials I created my own with Substance Designer. Greatest challenge was the bone material, I’m still a little bit disappointed with it (if you have suggestions please comment!). Best part was making the hammered metal design - I used a complex cells noise generator and warped it a little bit, then merged with a wrought metal material before edge wear.
