Oerlikon Skyshield

The Oerlikon Skyshield is a Short Range Air Defense system made by Oerlikon Contraves (now is a subsidiary of Rheinmetall). The Skyshield is made to replace the Skyguard. It can destroy enemy aircraft, drone, rocket, artillery, and missile. It is a modular system which can be mounted as a static defense (Oerlikon Skyshield) or as a SPAA (Oerlikon Skyranger) mounted to APCs/IFVs such as the Badak 6x6, Pandur II, or the Boxer. It is later developed by Rheinmetall resulting in the Nächstbereichschutzsystem MANTIS (NBS Mantis). The Skyshield has seen usage by the Air Defence Detachment of the Indonesian Air Force Rapid Action Command (Denhanud Kopasgat [Formerly known as Paskhas] TNI AU) in the Natuna Islands to protect it from aggressions.
