More model information5 stones set on edge in a N-S line were found in 1892 under a stone mound at Old Parks near Kirkoswald removed to provide material for road building. 3 of the stones were carved. The mound contained cremated human remains, flints, jet buttons, beads and 2 incense cups. Two of the carved stones are all that remain and are at Tullie House Museum in Carlisle.
The carvings on stone 4 are described as curvilinear grooves, ‘crooks’ and ‘arcs’ and were on the west side of the stone, in situ.
Similarities to designs made in Late Neolithic, possibly reused in a Bronze Age funerary context.
