Early Oligocene tracks within Mineta Formation in Cochise County, Arizona. The trackmaker was identified as Metamynodon by Spenser Lukas and Gary Jones.
Metamynodon is an extinct genus of amynodont rhino that lived in North America and Asia from the late Eocene to Oligocene. It was a semi-aquatic animal and likely fed on grass and plants like the modern hippo.
