The remains of the west pediment of the Temple of Zeus (c. 460 BCE) are housed in the Archaelogical Museum of Olympia, Greece.
“The subject of the West Pediment, the fight between the Lapiths and the centaurs at the wedding of Peirithoos and Deidameia, is clearly identifiable from the physical remains....In the center the imposing figure must be a god....most scholars believe he represents Apollo.”

Modeling Notes
Using an artist’s grayscale drawing, I outlined the sculptures in Illustrator and extruded them in Cinema 4D, then painted the drawing in Photoshop and mapped it to the model. This was a much faster approach to recreating the pediment sculptures than modeling them individually, although at a much lower level of fidelity. The sculptures are polychromed, in keeping with ancient Greek artistic traditions.
