More model informationThe Northern Grasshopper Mouse (Onychomys leucogaster) is unique among rodents in that not only is it a voracious carnivore but it also rears up on its hind legs and howls like a wolf. Their diet consist primarily of other animals, including insects, reptiles, and other rodents (even their own species). Northern grasshopper mice stalk their prey and let out a shrill cry before attacking. You can find them in grasslands and desert shrublands in western North America from Canada to northern Mexico.
