The “Orange Hall”, located in the north west corner of Fort Amsterdam, was presumably built around 1682 by the Dutch (A.W. Laurence,Trade Castles and Forts of West Africa). The floor and wall are made of stone, with some brick around openings. Remenants of the brick vault are visible on the north and west walls. It seems possible that at least the east wall has been reconstructed because it shows no remenants of the vault.
