More model informationOrmaig is a large rock art site near Kilmartin Glen, on the west coast of Scotland. This model shows a detailed model of Exposure 2. Towards the southern end of the outcrop are a series of unusual parallel grooves.
In 2007, I worked at Ormaig during fieldwork by Southampton University and Kilmartin Museum. A larger area of bedrock around these exposures was revealed. Very few artefacts were recovered, in comparison to rock art sites I have worked at elsewhere, but quite a few unrecorded motifs were discovered.
For the Ormaig surveys I have adopted the numbering scheme used during the excavation. N indicates True North.
Photogrammetry: Aaron Watson, February 2018.
