It was brought to Poland and resold to the District Museum in Tarnów in 2001 by an ethnology student (supervised by Prof. Lech Mróz, PhD habilitated) of the University of Warsaw, who conducted field research among nomadic peoples in India. The object was purchased for the Romani collection with the intention of including it in as part of the permanent exhibition Romani People: History and Culture, which has been presented at the Ethnographic Museum in Tarnów since 1990. It illustrates one of the concepts of the Indian origin of the Romani.
