This 3D model is of the decorated orthostat C15 within the chamber at Cairn T, Loughcrew, County Meath, Ireland (SMR No. ME015-012004-). The tomb’s passage is aligned on the equinox - at these times of year the rising sun shines along the passage and illuminates the orthostat at the rear of the passage. The decorated orthostat is located on the northeastern side of the main chamber. The decorated orthostat contains circular motifs, serpentiforms and arcs. These were “pecked” into the stone using a sharp implement, possibly made of flint or quartz.

The original object was recorded using the Artec EVA structured light hand scanner and processed using Artec Studio, Geomagic, and 3DS Max.
