More model informationThe 151 ft rafting tug Ottawa was built in 1881 as the Boscobel and worked mostly in the log rafting business on Lake Michigan. It was sold to Reid Wrecking Company in 1903, renamed Ottawa and re-registered as Canadian and used as a salvage tug. It was used in several famous salvages and rescues. In 1909 shortly after freeing the stranded steamer James H. Hoyt from Outer Island, it caught on fire and burned to the waterline. The crew escaped to the Hoyt. Over the next two years most of its machinery was salvaged. The model was created from 2,833 30-megapixel images shot by Ken Merryman and Andrew Goodman on one DPV dive in the 2023 season.
