Owens Valley Petroglyphs - Oldest? 3D Model
The dappled colors of this weathered surface hide the cut grooves by the artist creating many small pits. This appears to be one of the oldest remaining panels here based on its patena and weathering in spite being in a protected position. This was processed, flipped over, and illuminated from the backside in software to highlight the contours of the surface and make some lost lines visible, and it has done that. Line that I could not make out before are visible now. Shooting at night with controlled lighting on the subject. would work in combination with this method. The meaning of these nearly lost lines remains lost, but at least the content can be compared to later works. Except the zig-zag double lines and a few other things in common with the more recent works.
The entire wall containing this panel is posted but did not show this area well enough to see; https://sketchfab.com/models/8d55d5b90f754e38b1c3935d7cb19341
