More model informationThere are various types of docklines and they all have their own use:
- Bow Line - Prevents the boat from moving astern.
- Stern Line - Prevents the boat from going ahead.
- Spring Line - Used to keep a boat in postion where there is a signifigant rise and fall of tide. Although two spring lines are generally used, you can have up to four.
- Breast Line - Attached at nearly a right angle. These are used to keep a boat close to the pier like when boarding the boat. Where tide exists, do not leave a breast liune secured to a fixed pier.
