Palmer Point

These small-to-medium-sized points date all the way back to the Early Archaic period (9,000-8,100 BC) and are characterized by their flat, triangular, serrated blades and deeply notched bases (also known as hafts). This bright red Palmer point is made of a stone called jasper. Jasper is not a material found locally in Anne Arundel County, MD, with the closest source of it being found in Pennsylvania.
