More model informationA copper-alloy palstave from Bole Hill, Derbyshire, dated to the Middle Bronze Age (c. 1500–1250 BCE). Casting evidence has been meticulously removed, although some traces remain in the form of mould seam remnants and metal shrinkage on the stop within the septum on both sides. Additionally, the decoration on one face appears to be incompletely cast. Grinding striations from seam removal are present on both sides. The blade is partially corroded, but at least some of the notches on the cutting edge may bethe result of use.
