Historical Information: The Panzerkampfwagen V “Panther” was a German world war II tank introduced in 1943 as a response to the russian medium and heavy tanks and their sloped armour. This particular version, Ausführung G, was introduced in March 1944 to combat a variety of faults in the previous production versions. Changes included a newly designed hull and slightly increased side armour. The most notable visual change is the addition of a 90° slope to the gun mantlet, known as the “chin mantlet”. It was added to prevent enemy shells ricocheting off the lower part of the mantlet and into the lightly armoured top of the hull.
The colour scheme is the basic RAL 7028 used when the vehicles were loaded onto trains to be sent to the combat units.
Historical Colours used: RAL 7028 (Dark Yellow)
