Peggy's Dock: machinery partsYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
This tangled mass of timber and iron was dumped in Peggy’s dock after her retirement from sailing. It’s sitting directly on the flag stone floor along with heaps of sawdust. Overlying it was a layer of well-rotted night soil (chamber pot and privy contents); the dock must have seemed like a good place to dump this unwanted material. on top of that lay a thick layer of later nineteenth century rubbish, examples of which include the bottles at the back. The blue material is a tarpaulin that was used to keep the timber from drying out.
