Peinture Portrait Edmon Picard (1884)3D ModelNoAI
Portrait of Edmon Picar (1884), by Fernand Khnopff (1858 - 1921), oil on canvas. Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (Brussels, Belgium). Made of 400 pictures with RealityPictures.
A socialist and a champion of universal suffrage, the jurist Edmon Picard (1836 - 1924) was also a passionate enthusiast of literature and art. He was one of the founders of the review “L’Art Moderne”, in which he advocated “socail art” rather than the notion of art for art’s sake upheld by “La Jeune Belgique”. An occasional patron of arts, he supported August Rodin, even organizing an exhibition of the sculptor’s work in his town house in 1899.
