This is a Digital Outcrop Model of a part of the Plage de la Mine d’Or (Goldmine Beach) outcrop in Pénestin (Morbihan, France).
This photogrammetric reconstruction is made for teachning purposes to complement fieldwork for Bachelor-level students of University of Nantes. It features a part of the outcrop where Upper Pliocene sediments lies unconformably on deformed micaschist bedrock, as part of a more complex local setting. Younger alteration is also quite visible.
The DOM was made using 491 DSLR photos with GPS georeferencing, and variable focal lenghtes (35/100 mm); the two yellow rulers on left and right parts of the outcrop indicate 60 and 110 cm respectively.
Data and model have been collected and worked by G. Caravaca, S. Le Mouélic, N. Mangold and V. Ansan from UMR 6112 Laboratoire de Planétologie et Géodynamique
