Permian stem-mammal trackway. Clashach Quarry

Quarried block at Clashach Quarry ( Hopeman Sandstone Formation) show large stem-mammal tracks. Tracks probably made by a dicynodont though exact species unknown. These are large undertacks preserved in sediment a few inches below the artual surface the creature was walking on. Therefore the actual size of the creature’s feet were much smaller than these preserved tracks.
