Petralona Skull Reconstruction Updated

This reconstruction has been rescaled using the comparative linear measurements reported in Table S3 of the supplementary materials accompanying Feng et al. (2025), The phylogenetic position of the Yunxian cranium elucidates the origin of Homo longi and the Denisovans. Earlier version of this model was scaled using older published measurements that listed the Petralona cranium with a maximum cranial breadth of approximately 150 mm. The updated dataset reports a maximum cranial breadth (M8) of 163.5 mm for the Petralona cranium, resulting in a substantial revision to the overall scale of this reconstruction. For comparison, the same dataset reports a maximum cranial breadth of 146.9 mm for the Kabwe cranium. The associated Mauer 1 (Homo heidelbergensis) mandible has been retained.
