More model informationAround 1120, the first Romanesque-style church was built on the present-day site. The building also served as the first part of a three-part fortification. In 1320, additions were made in early Gothic style. In the 15th century, the church was further fortified by building a defensive wall around the cemetery surrounding the church. In 1683, the roof truss and interior were destroyed by the Turks. After the cemetery was moved away from the church in 1825, further extensions to the church followed in 1849 and 1935. Wall paintings from around 1320 with a red preparatory drawing were uncovered and restored in 1987. They depict St. Christopher.
