Head of Phyllium philippinicum (Phasmatodea: Phylliidae)
Imaged with the scAnt setup, modified to house a Nikon D3500 DSLR with a Nikon EL-Nikkor 50mm 1:2.8 lens in reverse.
4,620 single photos. Focus-stacked to 220 images with Zerene Stacker (PMax).
This one was a bit difficult because due to the alcohol storage, the specimen was almost white, so before reconstruction I ran some contrast enhancement and background subtrsaction steps in Fiji: * Enhance Contrast 0% * Add 15 * Gamma 1.56 stack * Subtract Background 700, light, separate * Enhance Contrast 0% Without these steps, the reconstruction resulted in a white cube.
Reconstructed in Meshroom with standard Meshroom settings, except that I set Texture downscale to 1. Decimated to 70% of original triangles in Blender.
