Pigeon Plane - DAE Flying Circus - WW1 Aircraft

A stylised plane, inspired by the 1914 German aircraft “Stahltaube” built by Emile Jeannin.

The original design is much straighter and longer: I increased the curviness & bulkiness of the plane a lot to get a stylised result, as well as making it feel like a bird. The texture was the hardest part, since it’s my first time hand-painting stylised textures. I initially tested a few dark cherry color palettes, but in the end went with a more solid blue & gold scheme.

This was an assignment for the course “Game Art 1” at Digital Arts & Entertainment, Belgium.
