Antoine-Louis Barye ‘French’ Lion Qui Marche ‘Walking Lion’, mid 19th Century. Incised on base, near right forefoot: BARYE. Patinated plaster statuette piece that is part of the Moseley Homestead collection, a National Register of Historic Places site in Brandon, Florida. This piece belonged to Julia Daniels Moseley, who admired similar works and statues of lions by Antoine-Louis Barye, a French sculptor in the mid to late 19th century.
