The skull and cervical vertebrae of this polar bear (Ursus maritimus, OUVC 9566) derive from a 26-year-old captive female from the Toledo Zoo who died of natural causes and was donated to Ohio University in the late 1980s where it was skeletonized. It was CT scanned in February 2013 at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital. The original CT scan data can be freely downloaded on MorphoSource: http://bit.ly/2RlykG8.
