More model informationThis 3D model of Polvese Island, located in Lake Trasimeno (Italy), was created using drone-based photogrammetry from nadir images. Over 2,000 vertically oriented photographs were captured during three automated flights that covered the entire island surface. The images were processed with Agisoft Metashape to generate a georeferenced and textured 3D model, offering a digital reconstruction of the island’s terrain, vegetation, and architectural features. The project is part of the GREAL Lab’s ongoing exploration of geotechnologies for environmental and geohistorical research, and aims to support documentation, education, and public dissemination of landscape heritage.
