Pompeii - VI.8.23 - Mosaic Fountain

This mosaic fountain is built up against the back wall of a small, lavishly painted, peristyle in the Casa Della Fontana Piccola (VI.8.23). It was scanned as part of the 2022 Pompeii Water and Sanitation Project field school run by the University of Missouri. The facade of the fountain is covered in lavish mosaics bordered by seashells, with a small pool in front. In the pool is a pedestal; on the right a bronze statue of a seated man, and on the left the remains of a small marble statue. The house nextdoor (VI.8.22) is the house of the Fontana Grande, with a slightly larger fountain (Very creative naming!). The model was generated in Agisoft Metashape from 765 photos taken using a Nikon Z5. Photo alignment was run on high, model generated on medium - model has been decimated for export, and made manifold for 3D printing.
