Ponte dei Saraceni at Adrano

Doubtfully built in Roman times on the Simeto river, it was mentioned in Medieval sources as already existent before the 12th century CE. Located 5 km NO of the town of Adrano (Catania) and known as “Bridge of the Saracens”, it is characterized by three gothic arches. In 1693, 1771 and 1792 and 1973, in underwent substantial reconstructiona and restoration works.
