More model informationArtifact recovered in excavations at the Moseley Homestead, a National Register of Historic Place site in Brandon, Florida. This type of doll dates to before 1900, and was recovered in a household dump area identified in the survey. The doll is a child dressed for winter with ear muffs and head covering. These types of dolls often had porcelain heads, arms and legs with a cloth body. Archaeologically, the porcelain bisque parts are often recovered without connection to the cloth bodies which have disentegrated or the porcelain parts were broken from the doll. In this case the head is broken at the neck.
