More model informationThis serpentinite outcrop at Port Macquarie displays multiple deformation. The sample has at least two tectonic foliations and associated stretching lineations. The main foliation has also been folded into the fold strucrure visible in this outcrop.
Serpeninite is quite common in the Port Macquarie area, along with metabasalt, chert, gabbros and even some granites. Most of the rocks are part of a Palaeozoic ophiolite caught up in the subduction-accretion complex of the New England Orogen.
Lens cap is 64 mm in diameter.
