More model informationThis portable ‘cup’ marked rock measures approx. 38cm x 30cm x 10cm and was found during excavations of a platform site in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, England. Its’ find spot amongst a collection of other stones wasn’t particularly secure, and it may have been thrown into position long after its single cup-like depression was carved. Cup marked stones of this size are usually associated with bronze age burial cairns and often re-used. In this instance, the stone has probably been reused in a later structure. The model was created from just 30 images. Unfortunately, a downpour prevented the imagery for a full 360 from being collected. That’ll hopefully happen later.
