Today the ancient door, called Palunci, appears isolated from the walls due to the heavy bombardments that the port area of Ancona suffered during the Second World War. The name of the gate, whose construction dates back to the late medieval era, is deeply linked to the mercantile context, in fact it recalls the surname of the family, of Illyrian origins, Paluncovich who had his own building right next to via Sottomare.
