Portrait Bust of George Sotter 3D Model
Charles Rudy (1904–1986), a sculptor and son of Horace Rudy, George Sotter’s friend and early mentor, settled in Ottsville, Pennsylvania, in 1936, not far from the Sotters’s home in Holicong. In 1939, Rudy executed a mature likeness of Sotter, modeled in plaster for which Sotter posed over an extended period. Rudy cast the bust in bronze, and it was accepted for the 1940 Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts annual exhibition in Philadelphia. Rudy achieved national prominence as a sculptor, working in a traditional style on commissions for civic buildings and monuments.
