This model was done as part of a WA-based regional 3D modelling competition, in which I had 3 hours to model and texture it.
We were given a scenario to set the scene/mood of the models, as well as a reference package. In total, we had 6.5 hours to create a hard-surface and an organic model. At the time I was rather inexperienced when it came to organic modelling, and had never attempted a high to low-poly bake. In the end I came second in the competition, but the following year in 2023 I had the honor of being flown to Melbourne to compete in the same competition; rather than representing myself this time, I represented the state of WA! And to top it all off? I won.
In the time between the regional and national competition I greatly expanded on my skills, and my victory as a national champion in my category has solidified my desire to become a 3D modeller professionally.
