More model informationA 17th century chafing dish from Combe, Oxfordshire. It is nearly complete, with two loop handles on opposite sides and six circular holes below the rim. Just like the food warmers you might find in restaurants today, this vessel contained glowing coals and served to heat other dishes which were placed on top. OXCMS : 2002.156.P
