Prehistoric Shell Axe from Nevis, West Indies 3D Model
A partial shell axe recovered during excavations at the site of Fort Charles in Nevis, West Indies. This artifact was recovered from the wall of a structure which served as an officer’s quarters and armory. The structure dates to the 1600s, the date for this artifact is unclear because it was clearly found in a secondary context. Perhaps it was collected by an officer at the fort?
