The two masted 71 ft schooner Pride was built in Black River, Ohio in 1866. The ship was used between Lake Erie and Lake Michigan changing home ports multiple times until it eventually ended up stationed in Wisconsin at various ports. As the aging ship deteriorated it sank and was salvaged multiple times was sold and resold and ended its career berthed in Sturgeon Bay. It sank on Dunlap Reef after breaking loose from its dock. It was deemed a shipping hazard and after considerable time was towed and run aground near the railroad bridge and left to the elements. Today it is a seldom dived shallow water archaeological site. The model was created from 8,514 12-megapixel GoPro images shot by Zach Whitrock in a Wisconsin Historical Society archaeological program project in the 2023 season.
