This unique firearm, crafted from car parts and .22 LR rifle components, was developed by Evelyn Owen Ernest in 1939 in South Wales, Australia. Featuring a stock that wraps over the wrist and a distinctive trigger design, it never saw use in conflicts. However, it later evolved into the iconic Owen gun of WWII. By 2077, the weapon was stolen by renowned heist artists planning to use it to break into the Sierra Madre, but due to a shipping mix-up, it ended up in the Commonwealth. A struggling engineer found the weapon, studied it, and published a book with the design, improving the trigger. Following the Great War, the gun was nearly lost, but a scavenger found it in 2120 and hid it for safekeeping. The design spread among leading to various modifications, including LCW, plasma, and gamma versions. Some versions were crafted with hot rod or flamboyant designs, and rumors suggest copies may have reached the Mojave, Capital Wasteland, or even London. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C242449
