The Colt 1911 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by the renowned engineer John Moses Browning and manufactured by Colt. Officially introduced in 1911, it served as the standard sidearm of the United States military until 1985. The Colt 1911 uses the .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) caliber, also designed by Browning, and is known for its reliability, accuracy, and power.

The gun operates with a single-action mechanism, fed by a 7 to 8-round magazine. Its iconic design features a recoil-operated system that locks the barrel and slides the bolt to eject the spent cartridge and reload the next one. The 1911 gained immense popularity in both military conflicts and among civilians, particularly for personal defense and shooting competitions.
