Base of an old Puriri tree with vines, in Smith’s Bush, Auckland, New Zealand. Their trunks get scars from where Puriri moth caterpillars burrow into the wood. After about five years the caterpillars turn into bright green moths with wingspans up to 15cm. My 3D reconstruction generated with photogrammetry software 3DF Zephyr v5.019 processing 80 images
