The sculpture of the April Putto in the Belvedere Garden depicts a young boy wearing a wide-brimmed hat, typical of rural workers. He is holding a long planting stick, traditionally used for planting or supporting young plants in spring. A watering can stands beside him. The figure is the work of Hans Gasser and dates from 1850–1852.
