More model information**Qantara Pyramidion
This object was discovered at the end of the 19th century at the site known as Tell Abu Seifi in Qantara. It was found in two pieces, which were later joined together. Initially, it was transferred to the Port Said Museum, then moved to the Ismailia Museum, where it was displayed in the garden. Eventually, it was relocated to the Suez Canal Museum in Ismailia.
The pyramidion originally stood inside the Temple of Horus, lord of Mesen, the eastern frontier city of Qantara. It was dedicated by Ramesses II. Based on the evidence, this city appears to have been located at Tell Abu Seifi in eastern Qantara. Ongoing excavations at the eastern frontier sites in Sinai are expected to reveal the lost city of Mesen soon.
