Small seciton of carved graffiti in the man-made cave at Quarry Hill Nature Center, Rochester Minnesota . To help view some of the marks, hold down the alt-key and move your mouse to change the origin of the light.
The cave was carved in 1882 by patients at the Rochester State Hospital, under the supervision and direction of patient Thomas Coyne. This cave was carved to serve as a cold cellar for food storage of produce grown on the hospital property by the patients.
There are thousands of graffiti carved in the soft sandstone of the cave and this model is of only a very small segment approximately 1 x 1 meter in size.
As the cave is unlit, the model was created using 11 photos taken with a flash and a Motorola Moto G5 Plus mobile phone camera. The model was processed using Metashape 1.5.1.
