We don’t find crystal skulls at Poverty Point, but there are other artifacts of quartz crystal. Clear, six-sided prisms are not uncommon and some were worked into pendants. At some sites, the tips of the crystals show evidence of use for drilling or etching. Rock crystal quartz, which does occur as prisms, was worked into beads, plummets, and other decorative items.
