More model informationQuintetra is based on the 5 tetrahedra inherent in icosahedral symmetry. This can be seen in
the 5 tetrahedron interlink as inscribed in a pentagonal dodecahedron shown. In the 4
quintetra models, the 5 sets of tetrahedra do not interlink or overlap, but are interspersed.
The 5 sets are color coded with 4 terahedra in each set, connected by bands of rhombic
facets. All edges are parallel with edges of the 5 tetrahedra. These bands can act as zones,
varying independently in width, including the 4 tetrahedra in each set. Shown here is a
sequence of models with their blue zones having different widths, one greater than in the
equilateral model at the center, one less, and one with the blue zone reduced to zero width.
