More model informationThe 130 ft. schooner Racer was built in 1856. It changed owners four times in its 13-year career. In a November 1869 storm it was blown ashore near Hammond Bay while carrying a cargo of iron ore. It quickly broke apart in the shallow water. Today it is buoyed annually by the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary as a dive, snorkel, and kayak site. The model was created from 1,298 30-megapixel images shot on one 30-minute DPV dive in the 2024 season.
