Reconstructed fitting from grave 130 on Ihre

Reconstruction of a small (5,9cm in diametre) fitting from grave 130 of the burial field of Ihre on Gotland. The original has been cremated and is quite fragmented. It is one of several similar on the burial field and belong to Nermans period II of the Gotlandic vendel period (600-675 AD). There are several interpreatations of the purpose of these fittings, and they where probably used in different ways. On Bornholm, one has been found used as a pendant, and there have been reconstructions where it is used as a belt pendant or the fitting on a small purse worn on the hip.
